Update : Rewrite to be out-of-universe: Companions of the Hall, Dark Sun, Elf (Dungeons & Dragons).Stubs : Dungeoneer's Survival Guide, Swords & Spells, Variant Dungeons & Dragons games, More. But equally, it might be better not to spring that complexity in the game on them until they reach the Harbor. Might be nice if people in Korthos could trade with one another. I'm less sure of this, which is why it was parenthesized. And also because the sunny/snowy Korthos thing is sufficiently confusing without adding specific attempts for people to meet across that barrier.Īnd Korthos should have its own. It shouldn't include Korthos both because newbies aren't likely to have anything useful to trade (either to offer or in response to an offer). And it should be universal so everyone has the opportunity to see what's being offered or requested. And when you do, someone may well respond in Trade rather than in PM like you asked. Trade should be universal so you don't have to hop from place to place to post the same thing. Not sure which why, so I'll answer all three. except it shouldn't include Korthos (or Korthos should have its own Trade channel). Автор сообщения: DougIn contrast, Trade should be universal. Improving hireling AI's to actually follow stand ground like they used to, among other things, would help new/all players as would more visible indications for what damage type kills them. I'd also prefer improvements on other aspects of the game if it is a question of that for the devs. I think global chats are really difficult to do in a way that doesn't have negative consequences. Not that it would be any easier nor that I've thought it through enough, but perhaps a different solution would work better-like adding a new social window where experienced players can check a box to be available to help new players, and from that same window new players can request help. But I'm not convinced that global chat is the best answer. I do think it would be good (but unnecessary) for new players to be able to access advice from those outside of Korthos in-game. Adding global chats will create more work for someone.whether that's good or bad for them idk. Someone has to moderate all the chats.so it costs money. Guild invite spammers will hit new players as soon as they can, if they can spot them in global chats, well that's bad imo. Other traders who tend to go to the Marketplace or Eveningstar, would no longer need to. Right now players who aren't participating in an event but want to trade event items will go to the area the event is in. global trade chat could perhaps have the unintended effect of making the world seem more empty. how global trade chat will affect the auction house. too many people using trade chat at once pushes posts up faster than anyone can make use of. gold spammers (yes I've seen them recently). Some things that come to my mind which I think need to be considered are: Any solution needs to know the answer to what it should contain and why. It just also seems like an ideal that is unnecessary, hard to achieve, and I don't put much faith in to be achieved in any game (so nothing against the DDO devs). Sometimes I think the Advice channel ought to lump together Korthos, the Harbor and the Marketplace into a single 'location' for newbie help. And it should definitely be a new channel. (It's really nice to be able to get notice that Crystal Cove has opened while you're off rebuffing on your guild ship.) They have one on Argonnessen, but it kicks me off it periodically and it usually only has about a dozen or two players signed in unless there's an event going.
